Who We are
We are a community of Gospel centered Christians who seek to live the Way of Christ Jesus in all we do. Rooted in our Lutheran traditions and with a theology of grace we seek to each of us be “Little Christs” to be God’s hands and feet in the world. By the Word of God alone, the Grace of God alone and Faith in God alone we seek to elevate one another and the world around us with the love of Christ.

About us
Since June 1955 Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has been proclaiming the Gospel and being neighbors to all in the Fayetteville-Manlius community. We have happily gathered in our current location since 1959 and while we have expanded over the years our commitment to the Gospel and our neighbors has been the same.
Today our congregation consists of around 460 members from the Central NY area. We are an extremely active congregation with multiple outreach ministries, adult education classes, Sunday School programs, monthly fellowship events, young family nights and other congregational gatherings. We don’t get bored here and try to have something for everybody.

We believe all people are created in God’s image. We accept, welcome, and embrace people of every race, color, culture, age, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, faith story, economic situation, physical and mental ability, educational level, work history, political affiliation, or citizenship status. All are welcome to the worship life of this congregation, including access to the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, and all are welcome and encouraged to join in our congregational life and ministries. By accepting all people as we are created, we are committed to the work of anti-racism, social and economic justice, and to making inclusivity a reality for our community. All done for the love of Jesus Christ!

We are a proud congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We proclaim the Gospel and are thoroughly Lutheran in our theology.

Children are absolutely allowed to come to worship and participate in the service. We have a full Sunday School program seasonally and the Nursery is open every Sunday. We also have material to keep small fidgety ones entertained at the back of the sanctuary. All “little ones” are welcome in the sanctuary without exception and are invited to participate in the Children’s sermons.

Whether you want to assist at communion, sing in the choir, help our neighbors through service, take a class or welcome people to Church. There is something for everyone who wants to get more involved. Come to a service and talk to someone about what interest you.
